STATEMENT
In quest’opera Dimitri Milesi indaga il rapporto tra due colori che si trovano agli antipodi: il bianco e il nero.
E’ evidente il richiamo atavico, all’antico, al passato arcaico. Figure antropomorfe e cavalli sono impegnati in quella che può essere vista come una vera e propria danza tribale: le braccia alzate in segno di adorazione o di resa, le gambe divaricate.
Guardano tutti nella stessa direzione e subito si percepisce il dinamismo, il movimento dell’opera. Si notano subito i simboli ricorrenti nell’arte di Dimitri: il teschio, segno di quella morte che resiste e persiste, l’occhio rotondo con le ciglia triangolari che indaga l’opposizione tra figure geometriche.
STATEMENT
In this artwork Dimitri Milesi investigates the relationship between two colors that are at the antipodes: white and black.
The atavistic reference, to the ancient, to the archaic past is evident. Anthropomorphic figures and horses are engaged in what can be seen as a real tribal dance: the arms raised as a sign of adoration or surrender, the legs spread apart.
They all look in the same direction and immediately perceive the dynamism, the movement of the work. You immediately notice the recurring symbols in Dimitri’s art: the skull, a sign of that death that resists and persists, the round eye with triangular lashes that investigates the opposition between geometric figures.
BIOGRAFIA
“Concepisco l’arte in generale come una rappresentazione spirituale. Il mio modo di fare arte passa dall’intenzione e motivazione al fine di comunicare, al distacco fino alla catarsi. I primi lavori eseguiti verso il 2002, erano solo una monologia, un discorso tra me e le mie opere; non li firmavo nemmeno perché intese come anonime. Poi la mia passione è diventata più importante e ho deciso di esporre la mia prima personale nel 2010 ottenendo buoni consensi. E’ iniziato così il mio percorso artistico e alla mia monologia si aggiunge un terzo elemento, ormai fondamentale: colui che gode dei miei lavori.”
Dimitri
Nato il 10 settembre 1974, Dimitri Milesi vive e lavora a Telgate nella provincia bergamasca.
E’ un creativo autodidatta, che si affida da un lato alla sua sfera istintuale per la resa cromatica e dall’altro al suo spessore intellettuale per la realizzazione grafica; due componenti, logos e pathos, che viaggiano strettamente nella sua produzione artistica e che rappresentano il leitmotiv del suo percorso visuale. La sua esistenza è segnata da un vero e proprio spartiacque che conosce una data: settembre 2009. Gli aspetti professionali di Dimitri registrano un cambiamento radicale che si ripercuote anche nella sua parallela attività pittorica. C’è, infatti, un passaggio da un registro stilistico di natura materica e prettamente sperimentale a un vero e proprio trionfo del disegno e della luce. E’ nel 2010 che Dimitri presenta la sua prima personale: “Dalla materia verso l’infinito”.
L’arte di Dimitri
Al di là della predilezione del grande formato e della spiccata molteplicità degli orientamenti stilistici, la pittura viene intesa in termini di una dicotomia dell’essere, indagando la complessità dell’inconscio umano e portando alla luce il paradigma di conflittualità interiore tra ragione e sentimento. L’arte di Dimitri Milesi è, come piace a lui definirla “primitiva, arcaica”. Si tratta infatti di disegni stilizzati, che ricordano le pitture rupestri. E’ un simbolista. Per Dimitri l’arte è ripetizione, è ricorrenza, è serialità. E’ dare ordine, anche in un caos apparente. Avvicinandosi e scrutando in dettaglio, prestando attenzione agli elementi presi singolarmente, ogni opera ha una sua dinamica, una serialità, una sequenza un proprio ordine.

“I conceive art in general as a spiritual representation. My way of making art passes from intention and motivation in order to communicate, to detachment up to catharsis. The first works carried out around 2002 were just a monology, a conversation between me and my works; I didn’t even sign them because they were meant to be anonymous. Then my passion became more important and I decided to exhibit my first solo show in 2010, getting good acclaim. Thus began my artistic journey and a third element, now fundamental, is added to my monology: the one who enjoys my works. “
Dimitri
Born on 10 September 1974, Dimitri Milesi lives and works in Telgate in the Bergamo province.
He is a self-taught creative, who relies on the one hand on his instinctual sphere for the color rendering and on the other on his intellectual depth for the graphic design; two components, logos and pathos, which travel closely in his artistic production and which represent the leitmotiv of his visual path. His existence is marked by a real watershed that knows a date: September 2009. The professional aspects of Dimitri record a radical change that is also reflected in his parallel pictorial activity. There is, in fact, a transition from a material and purely experimental stylistic register to a real triumph of design and light. It was in 2010 that Dimitri presented his first solo show: “From matter to infinity”.
The art of Dimitri Milesi
Beyond the predilection for large format and the marked multiplicity of stylistic orientations, painting is understood in terms of a dichotomy of being, investigating the complexity of the human unconscious and bringing to light the paradigm of inner conflict between reason and feeling. Dimitri Milesi’s art is, as he likes to call it “primitive, archaic”. They are in fact stylized drawings, reminiscent of cave paintings. He is a symbolist. For Dimitri, art is repetition, it is recurrence, it is seriality. It is giving order, even in an apparent chaos. Approaching and scrutinizing in detail, paying attention to the elements taken individually, each work has its own dynamics, a seriality, a sequence, its own order.
