STATEMENT
Prigionieri come pesci nel labirinto dell’inquinamento, iniziamo a superare ogni immobilismo, grazie a una vera educazione ambientale, pronti a rigenerarci e librarci con coraggio al di sopra di ogni utopia.
J.M. Barrie, scrittore della celebre favola “Peter Pan” affermava: “Nel momento in cui dubiti di poter volare, perdi per sempre la facoltà di farlo”.
Questo aforisma spiega in maniera semplice ma altrettanto profonda non soltanto l’essenza diel personaggio di Peter Pan, il ragazzo che grazie alla fiducia nella forza dei sogni è in grado di volare e raggiungere la magica isola che non c’è ma anche tutto ciò che si cela dietro l’arte di Carlocchia.
STATEMENT
Prisoners like fish in the labyrinth of pollution, we begin to overcome any immobility, thanks to a true environmental education, ready to regenerate and soar with courage above any utopia.
J.M. Barrie, writer of the famous fable “Peter Pan” stated: “The moment you doubt you can fly, you lose the ability to fly forever”. This aphorism explains in a simple but equally profound way not only the essence of the character of Peter Pan, the boy who thanks to the faith in the power of dreams is able to fly and reach the magical island that never exists but also everything that is hidden behind the art of Carlocchia.
BIOGRAFIA
Roberto Carlocchia è artista e graphic designer, con diverse esperienze nel campo della stampa e della comunicazione pubblicitaria, riscontrabili in tutta la sua produzione artistica.
Protagoniste di numerose mostre locali e nazionali, le opere di Carlocchia convogliano insieme visioni a metà tra fantasia e realtà. Si possono notare infatti le influenze di pittori quali Dalì e Magritte, il primo nel saper dare vita ai messaggi dei sogni e il secondo nei significati insoliti affidati agli oggetti.
I soggetti sono immagini nitide e reali estrapolate dalla quotidianità che, accostate a visioni e situazioni appartenenti al mondo dell’inconscio, creano composizioni inconsuete e utopistiche. Così Carlocchia parla della sua produzione artistica: “Il mio sogno è un’arte, libera da argomenti malinconici, fatta di segni e disegni dove il colore diviene veicolo primario per messaggi di libertà e sentimenti positivi”.
Il colore, dai toni accesi e forti e fil rouge che collega tra loro tutte le opere, affronta il tema dello scorrere del tempo, svelando eden segreti abitati da pesci volanti, manichini e mongolfiere iridate.
La rinascita per l’artista è strettamente legata al concetto di ecologia e al rispetto per il mondo in cui viviamo. In quasi (se non in tutte le sue opere) l’elemento green è protagonista: dai pesci sofferenti e ridotti a uno scheletro, fino ai manichini costretti a respirare attraverso una maschera a gas.
BIOGRAPHY
Roberto Carlocchia is an artist and graphic designer, with different experiences in the field of printing and advertising communication, which can be found in all his artistic production.
Protagonists of numerous local and national exhibitions, Carlocchia’s works convey together visions halfway between fantasy and reality. In fact, we can see the influences of painters such as Dalì and Magritte, the former in knowing how to give life to the messages of dreams and the latter in the unusual meanings entrusted to objects.
The subjects are clear and real images extrapolated from everyday life which, combined with visions and situations belonging to the world of the unconscious, create unusual and utopian compositions. Thus Carlocchia talks about his artistic production: “My dream is an art, free from melancholy arguments, made up of signs and drawings where color becomes the primary vehicle for messages of freedom and positive feelings”.
The color, with bright and strong tones and fil rouge that connects all the works together, addresses the theme of the passage of time, revealing secrets of Eden inhabited by flying fish, mannequins and rainbow balloons.
Rebirth for the artist is closely linked to the concept of ecology and respect for the world in which we live. In almost (if not all of his works) the green element is the protagonist: from suffering fish reduced to a skeleton, up to the mannequins forced to breathe through a gas mask.
